I've been drawing since I can remember. I have been working as a freelance illustrator since 1990. A few things in my work have always been very important: humour, simplicity and clarity. It's always my goal to let the drawing say what the words cannot. I like to experiment and try different techniques. At the end I will try to keep it simple. A few years ago I really discovered the possibilities of the computer. I've been building up a good knowledge of all the DTP programs and became a great fan of Adobe Illustrator which really suits the more graphic parts of my work. Working with the computer also allows me to explore my interests in graphic design more easily. Besides illustrations I make designs for cd's, postcards, logo's, posters, flyers and websites.

Psychology Magazine, Viva, Avantgarde, Haarlems Dagblad, Nieuws Tribune. CJP and many other magazines. Stichting Jongeren Informatie, NS, GAK, Arbeidsbureau, Ministerie van Sociale Zaken, Rode Kruis. Sony, Idol media, Nederlands Instituut voor Filmeducatie. Many illustrations and graphics for different publishers and companies.

 

Besides my graphic work I'm seriously involved in writing and performing music (also see the music page). Last but certainly not least I do my very best to be a good dad for my twins Dex(m) and Bobbi(f)
